A father who lost his daughter in the Parkland school shooting which killed seventeen has condemned two recent Nation Rifle Association (NRA) videos, likening them to the kind of clips terrorists release.
Speaking during a Senate meeting on gun violence, Fred Guttenberg talked about two videos, one in which NRA spokesperson Dana Loesch said "time is running out" for those who are anti-NRA, while the other was entitled "A Call to Arms".
In the video, Loesch addresses:
Every lying member of the media, Hollywood phony and role model athletes [and] politicians.
Guttenberg said:
[The NRA]Â put a target on all of your backs.
Here’s Dana Loesch, in the video, talking to legislators who don’t support her, members of the media who she called out by name, members of the acting community and sports figures telling everybody if they don’t get behind the NRA, their time is running out. And she had an hourglass, at the end of her talking she turned it over and she said, ‘your time’s up'.
I ask you a question: if this was put out by a terrorist organisation, we would be raising the threat terror level of this country.
Why are we letting this lobby have anything to do with DC? I don’t understand it
Loesch’s NRA video has been widely condemned and Sarah Chadwick, a survivor of the school shooting posted a response video on Twitter in which declares:
To every spokeswoman with an hourglass who uses free speech to alter and undermine what our flag represents... Your time is running out. The clock starts now.
Nineteen-year-old former student Nicolas Cruz has been formally charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder and 17 counts of premeditated murder following the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
