We know that it's a man's world; from employment, to education and publish, almost every system feels geared against women in every way possible.

And it's not just out and about that men get exactly what they want, it's in the bedroom too. While 91 per cent of men orgasm during intercourse, only 64 per cent of women can say the same.

Activists at Sexy Liberation aim to help close this gap, by sending women free sex toys, and offering others at a discount.

The female orgasm has long been a subject of contention. Some scientists have argued that the female orgasm never evolved for a specific function, but as more of a byproduct of the male orgasm.

Some blame society's standards, which mean sex is geared more towards the pleasure of men. For instance, straight women, one study found, are less likely to orgasm than gay women.

Sexy Liberation argues that sex toys help make things more even in the bedroom because “sexual exploration is an important component of progress in the ongoing sexual revolution”.

Its website states:

Personal experimentation with sex aids can help women discover and embrace their own sources of pleasure. And a woman who knows herself sexually will feel more confident talking honestly with her partner about her needs and desires
