David Cameron: My four-year-old daughter asks me every night 'is the election over yet?'

Tired of all the campaigning, the endless attack ads, the petty one-upmanship? It turns out you're not the only one.

Speaking to Channel 5 News on Monday night, David Cameron revealed that his four-year-old daughter Florence asks him every night: "Is it over yet?"

[My children] are very supportive. Florence, who's only four, she keeps saying 'has the election finished yet, daddy?' She thinks it has gone on for a long time.

But look, it's so important this election. The outcome is so crucial for the future of our country... such a big choice, that I don't think it's wrong to have a long election campaign. I think it's right to give people the maximum amount of time.

Even if my four-year-old, who's very wise, asks every night, 'is it over yet?'

Alas, Florence, there are still nine days to go. But rest assured, your sentiment is shared by the nation.
