They say dogs are man’s best friend. But this heroic pooch really went above and beyond for its owner.
Its 26-year-old human was talking him for late night walkies in Brooklyn last week, when a group of three muggers approached them.
One of the pulled a gun, but the hero pooch barked at them – causing the nervous gunman to fire off a single round, hitting the dog in the back.
The muggers made off with the owner’s phone, but he was able to take his injured friend to a vet, who removed the bullet and handed it to police as evidence.
We don't know what its name was, or what breed it was. But we're sure of one thing- it was a good dog.
