This man's failed attempt to hoverboard across the English Channel is the best Brexit metaphor yet

You might have heard about French inventor Franky Zapata, the former jet ski champion who was aiming to cross from France to England in just 20 minutes on a hoverboard.

Yes, really, this is where we are.

It started well enough, but quickly went downhill. Just minutes after the attempt began, it ended in rather predictable failure.

People thought that the image of a man attempting to liberate himself and fly across the channel, only to fail spectacularly, reminded them of something else that’s going on just now.

As far as Brexit metaphors go, it’s pretty strong, isn’t it?

But regardless, people commended the man's bravery and optimism.
