Kanye West claims that he 'can't say' whether president Lincoln was black or white

Wow, what a week Kanye West has had. Now, he's at it again, this time claiming that he doesn't know whether Abraham Lincoln was black or white.

First, he appeared on 'Saturday Night Live' dressed up as a bottle of Perrier water, then he donned a Make America Great Again cap and delivered a pro-Trump speech, which resulted in the assembled crowd booing him.

Then, he took to Twitter to criticise the 13th amendment, which was established in America to abolish slavery. In a tweet accompanied by a photograph of himself in a Make America Great Again cap, he wrote:

this represents good and America becoming whole again.  

We will no longer outsource to other countries.

We build factories here in America and create jobs.  

We will provide jobs for all who are free from prisons as we abolish the 13th amendment.

Now, however, he may have topped it all, in another bizarre interview with the celebrity news website TMZ, in which he claims that he doesn't know whether Abraham Lincoln was black or white.

When he was leaving a restaurant, Kanye was approached by a TMZ reporter, who asked him to elaborate on his criticism of the 13th amendment.

Kanye responded in a friendly manner, saying:

TMZ! I love y’all. What’s good, bro?

Then, when the reporter says that the 13th amendment was put into law by Lincoln, and that its purpose was to make sure that slavery couldn't come into law again, Kanye responded:

There is a conspiracy. Some people say that Lincoln may have been black.

So I can't say whether Lincoln was black or white. 

The reporter then presses Kanye to expand on what he'd like to amend about the 13th, and he says that he would like to re-open the conversation.

I'll do some more research.

When the reporter presses him again, he refuses to respond again:

I'm not going to be beat into submission into having lack of information on camera.

I'm going to go, and I'll speak with Harvey tomorrow about it. 

To give Kanye some credit, there are conspiracy theories that Abraham Lincoln's mother was of African American decent, however there is no hard proof to back up the theories.

As well as getting busy on SNL, Kanye has also changed his name to 'Ye' this week. Taking to Twitter on Saturday, he wrote:

The being formally [sic] known as Kanye West. I am YE.
