In case you missed it last week; Nancy Pelosi won the internet over with an iconic and literal clap back at Trump’s State of the Union address.
Referred to as “the clap heard around the world”, it was sarcastic, it was savage and four days later, people are still obsessing over what has now become a glorious meme.
Among them, are singer Katy Perry and her boyfriend, actor Orlando Bloom, who re-enacted the hilarious shade-throwing moment with Pelosi, after meeting her at the MusiCares gala in Los Angeles on Friday. And the picture is everything.
The three, who attended the gala to honour music legend Dolly Parton, were pictured imitating the famous clap together, while Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi could be seen laughing as he stood alongside them.
Pelosi’s now-viral gesture came after the US president denounced “politics of revenge, resistance and retribution” during his State of the Union address on Tuesday.
While many thought it was a purely sarcastic clap, Pelosi defended her action, claiming it was genuine. She told reporters:
It wasn’t sarcastic. Look at what I was applauding. I wanted him to know that it was very welcomed.
Regardless, Pelosi's clap and facial expression were so iconic, it's likely the meme will live on forever.
