Kayleigh McEnany, former press secretary for Donald Trump, has been ridiculed online after footage resurfaced from last year of her claiming that America would not be affected by the coronavirus or terrorism.
In a tweet posted by The Daily Show, presented by comedian Trevor Noah, the account writes that McEnany “made a really bad COVID prediction” and “a bad terrorism prediction in the same sentence”.
McEnany told Fox Business over a year ago today: “We will not see diseases like the coronavirus come here. We will not see terrorism come here and isn’t that refreshing when contrasting it with the awful presidency of President Obama?”
The video then goes on to reveal the inaccuracy of McEnany’s claims, after America recorded a “heart-breaking” 500,000 deaths from COVID-19 on Monday.
On McEnany’s prediction on terrorism, the clip referenced the attack on the US Capitol in January by white supremacists and Trump supporters, which left five people dead.

The clip concluded with comments from former Fox News host Lou Dobbs on Barack Obama’s decision to host a press conference in a tan suit.
“Whoever talked him into going into a tan suit, they’re so desperate because of these low poll numbers, they’re willing to do anything,” he said.
Commenting on the video, Twitter users were quick to poke fun at the former press secretary’s past remarks:
