Back in the 2000s, Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian were the biggest BFF's in the celebrity world.

The pair were regularly seen together on night's out and Kim even appeared on Paris' reality show The Simple Life.

Towards the end of that decade, as Kim's fame rose and Paris' began to decline, the two drifted apart.

Now, the most unlikely of people appear to have brought them back together.

The death of Playboy creator, Hugh Hefner on Thursday looks to have reignited their friendship.

It all started when Kim, who had posed in Playboy in 2009, tweeted her tribute to the 91-year-old.

Her post was retweeted by Paris, who had also posed for Playboy, back in 2005.

The 36-year-old had earlier tweeted her respects to Hefner.

The two managed to put their differences aside and began sharing memories of Hefner and the Playboy Mansion via text.

Kim confirmed this on Twitter, and the internet went somewhat wild with excitement at the thought of the two it-girls reuniting.

There doesn't appear to have been a complete air of silence between to the two women for all these years.

In August 2014, Kim shared a picture of her and Paris laughing as the reminisced about their old exploits in Ibiza.
