A video in which Meghan Markle discusses dealing with the press throughout her pregnancy has led to an outpouring of support across social media.
The clip was released in the run-up to an ITV documentary airing on Sunday which follows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's trip to southern Africa.
Reporter Tom Bradby asks:
I don't know what the impact on your physical and mental health, of all thee pressure that you clearly feel under?
Appearing to hold back tears, Markle responds that she has found it hard, and adds:
Thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I'm OK. But it's... a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.
Her raw response to what is clearly a painful question seems to have struck a nerve.
People pointed out the disturbing parallels with Diana's story.
Earlier this month Meghan and Harry announced they were pursuing legal action against the Mail on Sunday after the newspaper published one of the duchess’s private letters.
