Meet the world's most popular porn star - they're from Lebanon

Adult website xHamster has released a breakdown of porn viewing habits over 2016, using data from more than two billion site visits from across the world.

The results are very interesting.

Lebanese-American Mia Khalifa came out on top as the most searched for female porn star.

She sparked controversy a couple of years ago when she achieved a similar accolade for popularity.

She also spoke out against criticisms that she was bringing shame to Lebanon, a mostly-Muslim country.

xHamster also found in their 'Year in Porn' data, that:

• 'Mature' women was the most popular category.
• The second most popular porn star was Sunny Leone.
• The days with the lowest traffic coincided with major events in the Republican primary.
• The most searched-for term in the US was 'mom'.
• The most searched-for food was 'cucumber'.
• The most popular word written in comments was 'thanks'.
