Mother faceplants into the sand halfway through her daughter's proposal

Summoning the whole family to the shore of Lake Michigan - where the couple had been on one of their first dates - Bill wanted to distract Breanne as they posed for a group photo.

Little did he realise that Breanne's mother Eva, who had no idea what was about to happen, would stub her toe on the rock, fall face first into the sand below and do the distracting herself. Allowing Bill to get down on one knee amid the surrounding chaos.

Bridgett, Breanne's sister, told BuzzFeed: "We waited seven years for him to propose and my mum didn't even get to see it since she was face down in the sand. Good thing we had this video for her too see!"
