A quick reminder of what happened last time Rick Perry said he wanted to be president

It's quite hard to forget Rick Perry's infamous "oops" moment in the last round of Republican primary debates back in 2011. Just in case you did, though, it's even worse than you remember (scroll down for video).

The former Governor of Texas officially threw his hat into the ring for the GOP presidential nomination again on Thursday. He is one of ten hopefuls ahead of the US elections in 2016.

Perry was doing well early in the last presidential candidacy race, at one point even polling at 29 per cent - higher than Mitt Romney, who eventually won the nomination.

But his campaign collapsed virtually overnight when during a debate he couldn't remember the third government agency of a list he'd pledged to abolish if elected.

In a political panic that would only be bested by Natalie Bennett four years later, Perry became his own worst enemy:

I will tell you, it's three agencies of government when I get there that are gone. Commerce, education, and the, um, what's the third one there...

After a pause and laughter from the audience the moderator tried to press him again. Perry, still in the grips of brainfade, could only reply "I can't, sorry. Oops."

Perry announced his renewed desire for the GOP nomination at a rally in Dallas this week. If he wants to do better this time around he better start practicing his lines.

Relive the moment where an entire branch of government was saved from Perry's axe again below:
