Hundreds of people are posting sex-positive pictures online after Russians blamed a woman's own pictures for her own brutal murder

19-year-old Tatiana Strakhova was raped and murdered by her ex-boyfriend Artyom Iskhakov, who then had sex with her corpse afterwards before hanging himself.

Before Artyom died, he posted a bitter diatribe about Tatiana online, blaming her for her own death thanks to her 'provocative' pictures.

Many commenters took the man's side, erroneously saying Tatiana provoked him with her revealing photos.

Blaming assault victims for being a 'tease' and saying that someone is 'asking for it' is a fiendish tactic in the employ of people trying to make sexual violence normal.

It makes it that much more difficult for victims to come forward out of fears of being marginalised.

The disturbing victim blaming sparked protest, and men and women across Russia posted revealing images themselves, under the hashtag "It's not a reason to kill".

The powerful campaign aims to fight back against the scapegoat of victim blaming and stop this seemingly unending cycle of sexual abuse.
