‘Sex map’ charts the UK’s hottest towns and cities for ‘sexual activity’ over the past year

‘Sex map’ charts the UK’s hottest towns and cities for ‘sexual activity’ over the past year

If you’ve ever wondered how sexy your town or city is, then you can rejoice at the fact that – for some weird reason – there’s now a website for that.

Lovehoney, an online store which sells sex toys and lingerie, has launched an interactive map where users can find out where their town or city ranks for “sexual activity” out of a list of more than 1,500 places. They’ve based their findings on analysing the sales of sex toys.

Apparently, it’s Andover in Hampshire which has all the fun, while Nelson in Lancashire is at the bottom of the list at an unsexy 1,551.

Major cities have varying levels of success. Birmingham isn’t really ‘Brumpy pumpy’ at 1,348, Edinburgh’s having a wee bit of fun at 308, and Cardiff’s having a Wale(s) of a time at 254.

Elsewhere, Belfast lands itself at 1,060, while London’s Isle of Dogs clearly ranks at 132.

A spokesperson for Lovehoney said in a statement: “Andover in Hampshire is the UK’s sexiest place with the biggest rise in sexual activity over the past year.

“We have seen a huge surge in activity as couples use sex as a stress-buster to escape the pressures of the pandemic.

“All our research shows that couples with great sex lives enjoy higher overall levels of happiness.”

We’ve been unable to find out where villages such as Wetwang, Netherthong and Cocks score on the list.
