Sex shop staff used adult toys to fight off an armed robber

An armed robber was stopped in his tracks by flying dildos.

The man, who had a gun, went into adult store 'Lotions & Lace' in California, the self-proclaimed "one-stop love shop", expecting to carry out an armed robbery.

But its fast-thinking members of staff had other ideas.

As the robber approached one employee, her colleague started to launch sex toys at the man, throwing him off.

The robber left empty handed, and probably a little bemused.

One of the employees told 13 Action News: "They come in handy, I'm telling you", while another added: "They do got some weight on 'em."

Police are now hoping CCTV footage can help identify the hapless crook.
