The coalition's legacy? The rich are richer and the poor are using food banks

Today marked the release of the annual Sunday Times Rich List.

In it, we learned that the collective wealth of the 1,000 wealthiest people in the UK has more than doubled in the last decade.

In order to make it into that list, you now need a fortune of at least £100million, while there are now 117 billionaires in Britain.

Let's put those numbers into a couple of charts, showing how things have changed over the last five years, the same time as the coalition government was in power.

And, as a reminder, let's model that against food bank use, again over the last five years.
