The EU country making more new citizens than any other

Spain and the UK granted more citizenships than almost all the other EU countries combined in 2013.

In the most recent year for which data is available, Britain made 207,500 people citizens and Spain 225,800 - together accounting for around 44 per cent of all citizenships issued.

In relative terms however, Ireland and Sweden granted more citizenships than anyone else, as this graphic from Statista shows.
