The Labour candidate whose supporters are most in touch with the public

Pretty much everything that could have been written, said out loud, mumbled, tweeted, sung or just imagined really hard about the Labour leadership contest already has been - so we will keep this brief.

But with just two weeks until Labour elects its new leader - and almost all the polls indicate it will be Jeremy Corbyn - YouGov has taken a detailed look at some of the people who will actually be casting their votes.

An examination of what makes Corbyn supporters tick revealed that, in general, Liz Kendall supporters, and there are some of them, are more closely aligned to the views of the general public than those who back the other candidates.
