The Liberal Democrats have the highest proportion of supporters who consider themselves to be a feminist, a new survey has shown.
In a YouGov survey of 1,651 British adults, 41 per cent of Liberal Democrat supporters said they considered themselves to be feminists, 10 percentage points more than the country as a whole.

In the week that The Spectator declared feminism was over, thirty-nine per cent of Labour supporters said they considered themselves a feminist, compared to 27 per cent of Conservatives and 13 per cent of Ukip supporters.
Lib Dems also have the highest proportion of supporters who think there is still a need for feminism in modern Britain (74 per cent), compared to 62 per cent of Labour voters, 47 per cent of Conservatives and 31 per cent of Ukip supporters.

A majority of Labour and Lib Dem supporters saw a need for feminism in Britain today, whereas 50 per cent of Ukip voters saw no need for it.
The majority of Conservative, Ukip and Lib Dem supporters thought that calling someone a feminist was a neutral description, as did 50 per cent of Labour voters.
