The results are in, and the nation’s favourite toys have been revealed - with global brands Lego and Barbie topping the polls for boys and girls respectively.

Here are the top choices for boys:
1. Lego
2. Cars the movie
3. Thomas & friends
4. Toy story
5. Hot Wheels
6. NERF
7. Spiderman
8. Star Wars
9. Mickey Mouse
10. Playmobil
The top choices for girls:
1. Barbie
2. Hello Kitty
3. Lego
4. Peppa Pig
5. Minnie Mouse
6. Lego friends
7. Disney Princess
8. Monster High
9. My Little Pony
10. Mickey Mouse
The survey, commissioned by LIMA UK, questioned more than 30,000 children and parents across the globe to ascertain their favourite toy choices.
Over 1,250 respondents were based in the UK and it is from these respondents that results have been compiled to discover the nation’s favourite toys.
The study measured the awareness, popularity and appeal of the most important toy brands to children in various age groups, up to the age of 14.
