Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks are two names you'd probably reach for when you think of the most esteemed and talented actors in Hollywood.
In an exciting turn of events, they'll be starring together for the first time in The Post, directed by Steven Spielberg.
The film depicts the true story of Washington Post journalists in 1971 who exposed a massive cover-up of government secrets about the Vietnam war.
With the US release underway and awards season approaching, the duo are plugging the movie, doing promotional interviews and viral selfies at awards shows.
They also recently went on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in the US.
This TV behemoth is probably the best way to get the word out.
Ellen asked them which characters the other had played that they admired.
Meryl said she loved Tom as:
- Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger in Sully
- Charlie Wilson in Charlie Wilson's War
- Forrest Gump in Forrest GumpÂ
Tom said he loved Meryl as:
- Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada
- Sophie in Sophie's Choice
- Sarah Woodruff in The French Lieutenant's Woman
- Karen in Out of Africa
- Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady
Ellen then asked them to play the other, or an interpretation of the other's role in The Devil Wears Prada, The Iron Lady, Forrest Gump and Toy Story.
Frankly, you're not ready for the impersonations.
Hanks wears a Thatcher wig.
