Donald Trump has been widely mocked for saying "I just want to congratulate Poland" in response to a question about the 80th anniversary of the Second World War.
The C-Span interview has been widely shared on Twitter, with people pointing out that Poland was invaded by Hitler's Germany in September of 1939.

The gaffe is - in some people's eyes - even worse than New York Times columnist Bret Stephens mentioning "bedbugs" in an article about the Second World War, in an apparent reference to his public meltdown over being insulted on Twitter.
