Monika Rostvold took her clothes off, popped a blindfold and headphones on and then sat on the steps outside her university's library for 45 minutes on Monday.
The 22-year-old student, of Texas State University, says she made this statement to highlight the problem of sexual assault.
Rostvold explains:
April is sexual assault awareness month, and I wanted to create a piece about the standards that exist in our society.
As a survivor of sexual assault, I wanted to take control of my body by removing my identity and exposing myself to the public. I wanted people to view my body as beautiful and powerful and not as a sexual object.
Rostvold's action is reported to be part of the "never asking for it" movement - whereby women show that, no matter their age or appearance, they should never be subjected to sexual violence.
