The Great British summertime is enjoying something of a high point this week with balmy temperatures spreading across the country.

No doubt the seaside resorts of Brighton (25°c) and Blackpool (23°c) will be busily preparing for the coming hordes of pasty bodies this weekend.

But before you go basking in unbridled ultra-violet perhaps it’s worth bearing in mind that the people who live in these places are (surprisingly) having it even better than we are…
