Bill Maher brands Fox News as "scary" for how much power they have on Trump

Comedian and political commentator Bill Maher has hit out at Fox News for the amount of power they appear to hold over President Donald Trump.

As we all know, the former reality TV star is a big fan of the Fox News network and gets a lot of his information from their broadcasts.

Here are a couple of Trump's tweets about Fox, or in thanks to them, from the past few days.

Now, we're in no position to tell the President what he should and shouldn't watch, but it would seem a little concerning that the Commander in Chief would be spending the majority of his time watching a channel which is heavily biased towards him.

On the most recent edition of his show Real Time with Bill Maher, the 62-year-old presenter, along with a panel of guests, slammed Trump's dependency on Fox News and said that it is almost worse than the control that Vladimir Putin has over state TV in Russia.

He says:

It’s scary how much Trump takes his cues from Fox News.

Putin has state TV but Putin’s not an idiot, so state TV does what Putin wants.

I think it's the other way in this country. I think we're being... America's being run by Steve Doocy.

For those not in the know, Steve Doocy is a Fox News personality and best-selling author.

The group then go on to debate the way that Fox News pedals information to Trump, which he then carries out, and also hires people that he has seen on their channel.
