The seventh and penultimate season of Game of Thrones concluded on Monday.

The finale received positive reviews and concluded what most deemed a reasonably exhilarating season.

However, some people struggled to watch the show on time.

For those people, the popularity and attention of the show mean that social media is a nightmare (just get a spoiler blocker, already).

But attempts to steer clear of coverage can only get you so far.

They don't account for people. People talk. People natter on about plot points the day after, loudly. People ruin good shows for other people with more exciting evening plans.

This IT man, posted to reddit, has a very good strategy for dealing with such people (and we're not talking about a grisly GoT-esque death scene).

The sign reads:

I HAVE NOT SEEN THE FINALE OF G.O.T!!!

SO HELP ME GOD IF YOU RUIN IT FOR ME I WILL MAKE YOUR COMPUTER RUN SLOWER THAN A 1997 COMPAQ WITH A 56K MODEM!!

People commented variously humorous observations, such as:

Joke's on him that's an upgrade for me.

I like that he couldn't find any string, tape, or a binder clip, but he seems to have plenty of iphone cables to spare...

If you haven't seen it: don't go to Reddit, the news, or the watercooler.

*Or YouTube, or Twitter, or Facebook, or 4chan, or Twitch, or YouTube or outside. And don't listen to the radio, podcasts, or answer the phone. And don't play video games or talk to anyone.

And most presciently.

Engaging in office warfare with the IT guy is a losing battle.

They know everything. EVERYTHING.

For those interested, a 1997 Compaq had 16–32 MB of RAM - you could upgrade it to 80 MB if you wanted to. For comparison, an iPhone 7 has around 3 GB of RAM
