The Kardashians are well-acquainted with being called out for over-editing their photographs. This time around, it was Khloé who faced criticism for having... surprisingly long fingers.

Khloé, founder of clothing brand Good American, posed in a photo on Instagram on that was clearly altered – especially her hands and feet. The post was to promote her new footwear line.

“Ummm slender man vibes?” one person joked in the comments. “Those fingers got me all freaked out!,” another person said. Other were not so light-hearted:

“Be real. Be you. Be authentic. We like you for you, Khloe. Not for the photoshopped version,” one person commented. “The pictures are too elongated...Stop this,” another added.

Not to be deterred by her critics, Khloé responded on Twitter insisting that the effect was what they were going for ~aesthetically~ and it was not a “photoshop fail”.

"It’s just the lens guys! LOL but some of these stories are really reaching,” she tweeted.

“I mean..LOL how could anyone believe this is the size of my feet?! It’s the angle and the type of lens. And personally I think this camera lens is so f***ing cool. It gives the photo a different vibe and not the same old visual I always see. Either way, I’m happy with them,” she added.

She was also made sure to be clear that she has average-sized hands:

“Not to worry! I don’t have freakishly long fingers. It’s the lens! I can’t believe I’m even tweeting this LOL my old hands normal sized hands are still in tack. Nope I didn’t get a surgery to stretch my fingers and nope it’s not a ‘photoshop fail’. Have a great day.”

As she set the record straight – and it does seem likely the unusual perspective of the photo was on purpose – this is not the first time Kardashian, or her sisters, have been called out for heavy editing (whether it's slimming their already lean waists or changing eye colors.)

Khloe has made light of looking unrecognisable in the past. After a fan commented on one of her past selfies, "Why do you look so different in all your photos?" Kardashian said, "From my weekly face transplant, clearly."

But it seems the heavy filtering and altering should be taken more seriously. Just a few days ago, Khloe’s sister Kendall Jenner posted controversial images that some people thought were photoshopped – resurfacing questions about body insecurity among Kardashian fans.

As one person wrote at the time, “Stop comparing yourself... she has money, surgery, lighting, photographers, editors, nutritionists, personal trainers, makeup artists etc. You have an iPhone camera.”
