Norway is asking people to have sex on TV, for an important reason

Norway's national broadcaster NRK is debuting a show later this year which hopes to give teenagers a healthier perspective on nudity and sex by showing intercourse between members of the public.

The show, starting in November on NRK's P3 channel, is called Line fikser kroppen (Line fixes her body), in which host Line Elvsåshagen will discuss issues of body positivity and sexpectations (expectations of sex).

The show is searching for couples willing to engage in sexual acts for the show. Host Elvsåshagen said:

The idea is not to show sexual organs in action but rather to move away from a glorified image and show that sex is a nice and intimate situation that can often be a bit clumsy without being dangerous.

The show has hung posters around the country and contacted blogs in an attempt to raise the profile of the search.

P3's editorial director, Håkon Moslet, said the new programme offers a different narrative to that seen in pornography by depicting real sex between average people:

Just showing surgically-enhanced bodies and overly-choreographed sex creates false hopes and misperceptions.

We hope that by showing sex in its entirety, rather than just merely as penetration, we can provide the target group with the right approach.
