Sharon Osbourne cries as she defends Piers Morgan in tense TV debate

Sharon Osbourne has become emotional over her defence of Piers Morgan over his Good Morning Britain departure.

The controversial talk show host, who in the past has defended people like Johnny Depp, was left in tears after facing questions about why how she was defending Morgan’s after facing accusations of racism towards Meghan Markle.

Her The Talk co-host Sheryl Underwood said, “What would you say to people who may feel that while you are defending your friend, it appears you gave validation or safe haven to something that he has uttered that it is racist, even if you don’t agree.”

Osbourne then later said, “I very much feel like I’m about to put in the electric chair because I have a friend, who many people think is a racist, so that makes me a racist?” after Underwood explained that she wanted to help her as a friend.

She also posed questions about why were people so fixated on the race angle.

“If he doesn’t like someone, and I think this is for everyone who isn’t born white if Piers doesn’t like someone and they happen to be Black, why does that make him racist?”

A lot of these allegations came after Morgan’s much-maligned refusal to believe that Meghan Markle experienced racism, despite saying so during her interview with Oprah.

Morgan was told by broadcaster Trisha Goddard,“ you don’t get to call out what is and isn’t racism against Black people.” He also spoke over activist Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu as she tried to explain that Morgan was not the best person to decide if Markle had been a victim of racism.
