This woman had the best response to Kit Harington's 'reverse sexism' complaints

Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington caused a stir last week with his remarks on the 'sexism' he's experienced in Hollywood.

Speaking to the Sunday Times Magazine last week, the 29-year-old said:

I think there is a double standard. If you said to a girl, ‘Do you like being called a babe?’ and she said, ‘No, not really,’ she’d be absolutely right.

He has a point. But in the interview Harington seems to miss the fact that women are judged on their looks all day, every day, everywhere.

And while he has a legitimate objection to the shallowness of the industry, he's not quite suffering from the institutionalised hangover of millennia of subservience women do.

I like to think of myself as more than a head of hair or a set of looks. It’s demeaning. Yes, in some ways you could argue I’ve been employed for a look I have. But there’s a sexism that happens towards men.

Anyway. Step forward Six Feet Under actor Patricia Clarkson, who was quick to dismiss Harington's complaints in an interview with the Guardian this week:

I tell her about the complaint of one white male actor, Game of Thrones star Kit Harington, who expressed disappointment at what he sees as a sexist double standard in the industry, saying he’s sick of talking about his hair and his body. 'He’s a sex symbol,' Clarkson scoffs. 'Get over it. You have an amazing career and you’re on a hot show. Take your shirt off.' Hard to argue with that. She goes on:

'There are still so many movies made starring 50 men and one woman!... A white male actor should never be allowed to complain about anything. Shut up and sit in the corner.

In sum: you know nothing, Jon Snow.
