Overzealous customs officials ruined this cricket bat 'in search for drugs'

When flying to the United States travellers can expect to take off shoes and belts, remove laptops from bags, and leave all liquids behind.

Now, however, cricket bats are being searched as well - as New Zealand international Jimmy Neesham found out to his cost.

His bat was returned full of holes, after overzealous customs officials used a drill to search for drugs inside.

The all-rounder had been travelling through the US to play for his Caribbean Premier League team Guyana Amazon Warriors.
