A quarter of Britons think the word adorbs means graffiti

More than a quarter of Britons think the word adorbs means graffiti - while 17 per cent said the word hench meant a male prostitute.

That's the main takeaway from YouGov polling on new words added to the online edition of the Oxford English dictionary. Well, that and also people who are 60 and over are just as likely to know what cray means as those aged between 18-24.

Meanwhile older people are (for some reason) much more likely to know the correct definition of the "bank of Mum and Dad". YouGov asked 2,019 adults which definition of the words they thought was correct between 14-15 August.
