An air hostess has revealed a “simple” thing that passengers can do to guarantee you receive “special treatment” from flight attendants.

TikToker Kat Kamalani has first hand experience as a flight attendant and shares secrets, tips and hacks about her job.

In one video, Kamalani promises that “your flight will change dramatically” if you follow her advice.

OK, we’re all ears...

Kamalani begins: “If you do this one simple thing on an aircraft, I promise you, you will get the royal treatment from the flight attendants.

“Being a flight attendant is exhausting. You’re always in different time zones, waking up crazy hours, and dealing with angry customers.

“So I promise you, the next time you fly, if you want special treatment from the flight attendants this is all you have to do.”

Apparently, small gestures go a long way as Kamalani says a thoughtful gift such as a sweet treat or a Starbucks gift card can make all the difference to an exhausted flight attendant.

She explains: “$5 Starbucks gift cards, it means the world to us when a customer gives us this.

“And if you don’t have gift cards, you can just pick up some candy bars, lip balm, anything and give them to your flight attendants.”

Kamalani goes on to answer why this would improve a passenger’s journey.

“We will know where you’re sitting, and we will know what you look like and the whole crew will make sure you are taken care of.”

The TikToker’s helpful hint has received 3.3m views, with 720,000 likes and thousands of comments from people. You can watch her video in full here.

One person wrote: “I have thought about giving little gifts, but it makes sense! Thanks for this!!”

“I always give them donuts!!! They treat me so nice lol,” another person commented.

Someone else added: “Oh my, I wasn’t aware we can gift them items, thank you.”

“It makes sense! We tip taxi drivers & waiters and they only have to deal with us for an hour or two,” a fourth person replied.

However, others disagreed with Kamalani and argued that passengers shouldn’t have to bribe flight attendants to have a pleasant journey.

One person said: “Bribe the attendants if you want to be treated like a human.”

“Just do your job seriously,” another person replied.

Someone else commented: “But they’re supposed to take care of EVERYONE equally. That’s their job.”

“Too bad it’s not already in the price of the already expensive ticket,” a fourth person commented.
