Americans are being left ‘shook’ after seeing a picture of Swindon’s ‘magic roundabout’

The roundabout is an unusual concept to those across the pond, and when one Reddit user decided to post a photo of one to “spook” Americans, the responses were exactly what you would expect.

What’s more, is that the roundabout wasn’t just any roundabout – not even a Milton Keynes roundabout – but the so-called ‘Magic Roundabout’ in Swindon.

For those unaware, that’s the one with a main roundabout in the middle, and five mini-roundabouts.

Here is a video to prove just how visually complicated it might seem to someone (its actually relatively straightforward).

When user Mamoof posted a bird’s eye view of the roundabout to the Casual UK Reddit, Americans hated it.

“American here. This genuinely terrifies me,” one wrote.

Another simply put: “What the bloody hell?”

“Waiting for Tesla full self-driving beta to arrive at this beast,” said a third.

If you’re wondering, Tesla does not like it either.

And even the Brits in the comments were uncomfortable with the roundabout, with one top comment reading: “People usually get anxious when approaching this roundabout but it’s incredibly easy to use. You simply turn right, right again and then leave Swindon.”

“Always best to get the hell out of Swindon before dark,” another quipped.

A third wrote: “The only reason to be in Swindon, is to leave Swindon.”
