In an executive order signed last Friday Donald Trump banned citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the US for at least 90 days.
A federal judge in Brooklyn stayed Trump's executive order with a ruling that prevented the Government from deporting arrivals.
The United States refugee admissions programme was suspended for 120 days and Syrian refugees have been banned indefinitely.
The order also introduces a cap of 50,000 refugees to be accepted in 2017.
Vlogger and business owner Hank Green pledged to spend $5 to the American Civil Liberties Union for every hand-drawn message of support for immigrants, Muslims or refugees:
