It's only March and we have already seen our fair share of social media trends in 2018.
There were the logic-defying eyebrow trend and the highly dangerous obsession with eating laundry tablets.
Yet China seems to be leading the way when it comes to these trends.
For example, everyone couldn't get enough of the "karma's a bitch challenge" from a few months ago.
Now a new sensation is sweeping the Asian nation and it involves women eating small colourful blocks of ice.
Sometimes the ice is filled with juice or coloured liquid for added flamboyance.
It's not entirely clear what this trend is about or how it started, but BuzzFeedreports that its origins appear to lie in the video-sharing app Kwai, which is a bit like Vine in that it allows users to record and edit short clips themselves.
Multiple profiles have now popped up all over Instagram dedicated to the videos with people commenting on how much they like the videos and how satisfying the crunching noises are.
We honestly don't know what to think of this. What we can say is that it can't be very good for their teeth but we have to compliment them on their creativity.
