Attention!
Lots of little boys like playing soldiers, but not many take it to the lengths of four-year-old Marshall Scott.
He went with his mum, Imogen, to see the Changing of the Guard at Windsor Castle, dressed head to toe in a mini-guardsman’s uniform.
As a squad of Coldstream Guards, in matching bear skin hats, marched past and into a doorway, Marshall gave them a strong salute.
Lance Corporal Paul Edden then came out for a quick photo with the toddler – much to the boy's delight.
And the video capturing the affair quickly went viral and has been viewed over a million times online.
L Cpl Edden explained to Forces TV why he did it:
I just remember when I was younger when I wanted a picture with a soldier and seeing Marshall in a Coldstream Guards uniform just made me proud of what I do.
I just thought I would give him a chance to have a picture for himself for his own memories. It wasn't till one of the Guardsmen found the video on Instagram that I was told it was his birthday, so it just made the moment even better.”
He's even offered Marshall a guided tour around the castle.
Mission accomplished.
