Sooz Kempner (YouTube)
Stand-up comedian, Sooz Kempner, had Twitter in hysterics with her latest Liza Minnelli-style rendition for Euro 2020.
Watch it here:
She opens the video by saying: “Oh, hi... have you heard... But have you heard?” before launching into a hilarious mash-up of Three Lions song – the England team’s unofficial anthem – and Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York.
Of course, it went down an instant hit online with football fans and beyond. One even urged Sooz to sing the national anthem at the final...
While another praised the stand-up comedian for her creativity and humour, saying she had outdone herself.
Sooz even made it to the EURO 2020 fan zone board in London.
One encouraged Sooz to perform John Barnes’ rap from World in Motion - now, that’s something we’d love to see.
The rendition was that good, one suggested they would buy an album.
This isn’t the first time Sooz has had us in stitches. Her takes on Donald Trump - in the style of Liza Minnelli, no less - was probably one of the only unexpected pros of Trump’s presidency. From his car crash interviews to his bizarre and random tweets, Sooz transformed them into something somewhat spectacular.
Sooz put her own spin on Trump’s ‘home from hospital’ video.
... And how can we forget Trump’s HBO Axios interview with Jonathan Swan?
