Netflix is looking for cute dogs to star in its dog-umentary

Do you think the world needs to know about how great your dog is?

It doesn't.

Or maybe it does. Netflix are renewing the inventively named 'Dogs' for a second series, and they're looking for heartwarming stories of our most popular four-legged companion (sorry cats - one in four homes in Britain own a dog, with only 18 percent opting for a feline).

Executive producers of the docuseries, Amy Berg and Glen Zipper, released a joint statement on Wednesday, saying:

From the beginning we have said that the joy shown in ‘Dogs’ helps bring people together and that same feeling will translate more than ever in Season Two.

‘Dogs’ offers us the ability to explore some of the most important human stories through relationships with our best friends and it’s been amazing to see how much these episodes have touched audiences and critics across the globe.

Most importantly, our fans have become part of our extended family and we are honoured to bring them a fresh set of stories that will allow us to connect with them yet again.

Production is not yet underway on the series - and fans are invited to apply to be part of it.

Using the hashtag #netflixdogstory and tagging @NetflixDogs on Instagram and Twitter, people are sharing pictures and stories of their canine pals.

The results are often as strange as they are cute.

Other tales are genuinely heartwarming.
