Quiz: Can we guess if you're an introvert or an extrovert?

Different personalities are drawn to different landscapes, according to new research.

A study by researchers from the University of Virginia has shown that introverts and extroverts prefer different terrains when asked to choose between them.

The research, published in the Journal of Research in Personality, surveyed over 1000 participants, finding a correlation between introversion, extroversion and certain landscapes.

Participants were presented with landscapes and asked:

If the time and the cost to visit and stay in these locations were identical, which location would you like to visit?

The results, combined with personality tests, showed that introversion and extroversion were linked to preferences for certain terrains.

The researchers then tested their hypothesis using large-scale personality data across America, comparing personalities with the landscapes of where people lived.

Can we guess if you're an introvert or an extrovert based on your preference in landscape? Take the quiz below:

The researchers found that introverts prefer mountainous landscapes more than extroverts, and that extroverts were more likely to be drawn to the ocean to have fun and socialize.

They also found that extroverts do not like mountains as much as introverts partly because they perceive that it would be harder to have fun in the mountains.
