Woman tells partner to ‘wipe properly’ as she tires of him leaving ‘skid marks’ on their sheets

A woman has revealed she had to tell her husband she won’t wash his dirty underwear anymore because he keeps leaving “skid marks”.

The unfortunate woman made the revelation in a post on Mumsnet and said that despite being an “amazing man” her husband’s hygiene habits were getting on her nerves.

In the post, she explained: “Together 3 years, great relationship, amazing man. Currently expecting our first baby together. BUT (and it’s a big but!)...

“The man has skid marks in his boxers almost daily. I’ve broached the subject numerous times, told him to sort it out.

“Wipe properly (he says he does, but sometimes it’s ‘impossible to, it’ll take ages’ (?!).”

She explained that the final straw came when it wasn’t just his underwear it was affecting but their bedding, too.

She continued: “The final straw was this morning as I was making the bed. Skidmarks on the bottom sheet.

“When he came upstairs to say goodbye before he left for work I told him he needs to change the sheets. There is shit marks and I am not touching it.

“I also told him I’m no longer washing his boxers.”

The woman conceded that he does have IBS, which can’t be helped, but said that wiping properly is a choice and asked other Mumsnet users if it would be extreme to ask him to go to the doctor.

She ended the post: “I am going to ask him to wear pyjamas in bed from now on but is it an overreaction to ask him to perhaps go to the Dr’s?!”

It’s fair to say most other readers were in agreement with her and reassured her she wasn’t overreacting.

One person wrote: “No you’re not overreacting, it’s grim, and yes he should see a doctor.”

Another commented: “He’s a grown man so he can do his own laundry..... simple as that.”

Someone else agreed, saying: “Wet wipes and nappy sacks. If it’s medical I wouldn’t embarrass him over this. It’s not really a big deal and easily sorted.”
