Lamar Odom’s documentary landed on Netflix this week, offering a rare and emotional insight into his life – both before and after his widely publicised drug battle that left him fighting for his life.

Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom dives into the former NBA star’s upbringing, family life, and personal struggles, with contributions from family, friends and teammates who have been part of his life over the years.

Khloé Kardashian also features in the hour-long documentary, appearing in candid interviews that reveal what was really happened behind closed doors during their marriage.

What happened to Lamar Odom?

In 2015, Odom was hospitalised after being found unconscious by two workers at the Love Ranch brothel, located an hour outside of Las Vegas. It was later confirmed that he had overdosed.

His condition was extremely serious. He suffered six heart attacks and 12 strokes and was placed on life support. He regained consciousness three days later.

Kardashian remained by his side throughout his recovery. As she shares in the documentary: "I was there for about four months, with him every single day. We were determined to get him walking and moving again."


Where is Lamar Odom now?

Odom is currently focused on his sobriety, recently revealing to USA Today: "I am almost 60 days completely sober. No pot, no alcohol (since 28 January). I think, with me, stopping the marijuana was probably the hardest."

Earlier this year, on 17 January, he was arrested in Las Vegas on suspicion of driving under the influence.

According to court documents in Clark County, Nevada, he is facing misdemeanour charges, including DUI, driving more than 41 miles per hour over the speed limit, and failing to maintain travel in a street lane.

Odom, now 46, has pleaded not guilty and is due to stand trial on 7 July.

He has also completed a 30-day programme at Los Angeles’ iRely Recovery Center, as he continues working towards long-term recovery.
