Weiner’s observation led to a think piece asking if the mons pubis was the new thigh gap – and now the Daily Mail has pointed out there is a surgical procedure aimed at tightening the area named the Monsplasty, which is described as suitable for “any woman who is unhappy with the size, shape and excess skin of her Pubic Mons and desires to have it corrected”.
In Britain, data from our Google searches shows there has also been a 50 per cent year-on-year rise in searches for the procedure, and a 57 per cent rise in searches for “fat mons pubis”.
Still worried? This is the most pertinent line in Weiner’s excellent piece.
