Contrary to what you might have seen, there isn’t a secret ‘hack’ to DIY a headphone jack onto your new iPhone 7.

YouTube tech prankster TechRax uploaded a new video which tells people otherwise.

Kids, don't try this at home.

A lot of people have been complaining recently that the new iPhone 7 lacks the iPhone jack. It’s something that’s been on every generation iPhone: it’s not there anymore.

I found a perfect solution to this problem guys it’s a very simple tutorial, just follow along.

First, put your iPhone 7 in a clamp and tighten. Accuracy is everything.

You get a drill. TechRax isn’t specific on the type, so you can choose. Any drill.

Then, get drilling:

Some people on YouTube claim to have followed all the instructions, and their iPhone still stopped working…

These people are clearly incapable of following instruction.

ImperioMagno:

THANKS BRO, I DESTROY MY IPHONE 7, 700 DOLLARS AT TRASH, THANKS

Zogazoo:

I followed the tutorial exactly but now my phone wont work.

So many people claimed to have followed the tutorial, one conscientious YouTube user made a PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Moonglow38:

People please report this idiot for making a video on how to destroy your phones, because that is what he is doing. Sadly he has even made the news for tricking people into ruining their phones.

But most pointed out the painfully obvious:

Nicholas Carpenter

This is probably the best troll of 2016...

Parikshit Juvekar:

If you're too daft to realize that is not how you get a 3.5 mm headphone jack, I hope you at least noticed that the music was playing through the speakers despite the earphones inserted. That should have been your first clue.

You can watch the entire video, below:

The video has over nine million views so far, and we can only hope that those views are there to enjoy the prank, not to replicate it.

TechRax has a history of iPhone pranks, including microwaving an iPhone, and boiling it in crayons.

So, maybe don't drill into your very expensive phone.
