Canadian cyclist and internet sensation Stephen Lund has amassed a dedicated following for his artwork, which he constructs with only his bike and a GPS device.

On his website, which you should probably bookmark, Lund explains how he began the process of creating amazing drawings via routes on a map:

Well before dawn on the first day of 2015, I snuck out of the house with my bike and my Garmin and 'painted' a New Year’s message on the streets of Victoria, British Columbia.

Failed exclamation point notwithstanding, my handiwork got enthusiastic kudos from many members of my cycling club.

And since I like kudos and praise almost as much as I like cycling and creative pursuits, I decided to embrace it as a way both to spend some of my free time and recharge my creative batteries.

796 hours 36 minutes in the saddle later, he was saying goodbye to 2015 in the same manner, having created dozens of drawings for the internet's benefit over 22,500km...

...as well of that of his family at birthdays:

Lund cycles about 70km every day, creating doodles with the route-tracking app Strava.

Stephen also hosted a Ted Talk in December on his unique pastime, discussing his globetrotting experiences on the saddle which includes crashes, victories and hard lessons such as:

A GPS device doesn't come with an eraser.
