A baby boomer has suggested that if millennials really want free education, they should just join the army – and it only too a few minutes for a millennial to clap back.

On a post earlier this year, Facebook user Jimmy Rat attached a picture of an Armed Forces recruitment centre alongside the caption:

Hey guys, this is a government office where you can apply for your free college. They'll even give you on the job training, work clothes a free place to live and three hot meals a day all with the additional potential of international travel to Iraq/Afghanistan.

You, you don't like 'free stuff' anymore?

It is well known that baby boomers, born between 1946 and 1964 don't see eye to eye with millennials, who were born between the early 1980s and early 2000s. The price of education, in particular, is a touchy subject, with millennials asking for cheaper tuition, while baby boomers don't think they should even be allowed to think that way.

So it was only a matter of time until one millennial clapped back, responding to the post in the best way possible:

I'm sorry, but the whole 'join the military if you want free education' thing is bs. You shouldn't have to go through severe and psychological reconditioning, risk your life, or sign up for a war that you are morally opposed to in order to get an affordable education.

Honestly, most people fighting for 'free education' aren't even asking for 'free education', they're asking for AFFORDABLE education, you know, like the generation before ours had, before the politicians they voted into office screwed that up for us.

Unfortunately for Jimmy, this comment was followed up with an entire army of other millennials disagreeing with his point of view. It looks like he should have picked his bone somewhere else other than on Facebook...
