Warning: The below article is obviously of a slightly NSFW nature. You clicked on it.

It turns out it doesn't have to be all night long.

The Goldilocks window, as it were, for sex has been estimated by a survey of 3,836 people to be just under half an hour.

The survey carried out by Saucydates.com, found that the average answer to "how long would you like sex to last" for women was around 25 minutes and 51 seconds.

Men, on the other hand, gave the average answer of 25 minutes 43 seconds. Finishing just eight seconds too early, it seems.

The results of the poll also showed that the average man in any country surveyed doesn't last that long. It seems we're all reaching for a time marker we're not hitting.

There was a noticeable trend in the duration of sex increasing with age, before then again decreasing.

The country in which men lasted the longest was the United States.

However, lest we forget, every man and every woman are different and will have different windows of preference.

Unless you know your partner likes it, it may be unwise to tiptoe over the half-hour line.

A year ago a study by researchers at Penn State University in the US found that sex lasting longer than half an hour was:

a situation ripe for disappointment and dissatisfaction.

Their study estimated that a "desirable" amount of time for intercourse was 7-13 minutes.

Who knows who to believe?

Your partner, obviously, not survey averages.
