Never mind the Times, the Buchan Observer hands down wins best headline of the US election so far.

The local paper based in Aberdeenshire played on its ties to Donald Trump, the new President of the United States who also happens to own a golf course in the area, in amazing fashion.

"Aberdeenshire business owner wins presidential election", their website says.

The text goes on to say: "Donald Trump, owner of Trump International Golf Links at Balmedie, has been elected as the next President of the USA..."

Morag Leadingham, the editor of the local paper, told indy100: "As the Trump International Golf Course is on our doorstep we felt we had to acknowledge Mr Trump's victory in the Presidential election - and being a local newspaper we obviously like to find a local angle, hence the headline."

"We have been stunned by the amount of interest this has generated but are delighted that the Buchan Observer is making its own headlines this week."

Well played, Buchan Observer, well played...

Alec Baldwin would be proud.
