BBC Question Time audience member interrupts Tory peer who makes fun of Nigel Farage and milkshakegate

Last night's BBC’s Question Time addressed Nigel Farage having a milkshake thrown on him.

Conservative peer and David Cameron’s former head of policy Camilla Cavendish clapped back at an audience member who interrupted her after she poked fun of the milkshake incident.

A few days ago Nigel Farage reportedly got stuck on his Brexit Party campaign bus after people armed with milkshakes surrounded him.

This came just days after a protestor threw a banana and salted caramel milkshake at him during a rally in Newcastle.

On BBC Question Time, an audience member asked the panel: “Do milkshakes speak louder than words?”

Cavendish responded: “There was a great headline somewhere which was, ‘Some lactose against the intolerant.’”

The Tory peer chuckled as the audience laughed, but one member found it less than amusing, and shouted out, “It’s not funny!”

“But that’s sort of the point, isn’t it?” Cavendish continued, addressing the audience member.

It’s actually not really that funny. And if you really want to take somebody on, you really disagree with them in politics, what you ought to do is stand against them.”

Her response elicited applause.

This exchange comes after people in the UK cast their vote for members to sit in the European Parliament, with one MEP Brexiteer predicting Nigel Farage’s new Brexit Party will win big.

The results from every nation will be released on the evening of 26 May.
